CROSSCOMP has organised on 25.11.2020 the opening public event, where project objectives and main activities were presented and discussed with stakeholders. Due to COVID pandemic situation, the meeting was organised on-line, using the Microsoft Teams platform. The total attendance was 43 participants, covering all ranges of target group members and stakeholders. The agenda of the opening event was divided in 4 main sections:
- Welcome addresses. This section was hosted by Prof. Carmen Maria LOGHIN, TUIASI vice-rector in charge with RD&I. The section counted 8 speakers, and started with interventions of the 3 rectors of TUIASI – Prof. Dan CAȘCAVAL, TUM – Prof. Viorel BOSTAN, and UASM – Prof. Liviu VOLCONOVICI. The section also included Iulia PALII on behalf of Minister Anatol USATII, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of Republic of Moldova, Acad. Ion TIGHINEANU – President, Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Veaceslav SUTCHEVICI – Component manager “Investment Promotion”, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Economic Policy Advisor to the Moldavian Government, and Alin AVÎRVĂRI – General Manager Systems Engineering, Renault Technologie Roumanie SRL, Groupe Renault Romania.
All the above addressed welcome speeches and underlined the importance of the CROSSCOMP project for the automotive engineering sector in the cross-border area.
- Project overview and Partners Project Presentations. This section was hosted by the project manager Prof. Nicolae LUCANU (TUIASI) who presented the CROSSCOMP project overview, including project factsheet, general objective, specific objectives, expected results, and project activities.
Prof. Nicolae SECRIERU (TUM) and Prof. Igor BEȘLEAGĂ (UASM) gave partners project presentations.
- Invited presentations – Automotive Engineering in the cross-border area. This section was hosted by Prof. Nicolae LUCANU and consisted of 4 technical presentations. Prof. Ciprian COMSA (TUIASI) presented an overview of challenges and trends in automotive engineering, Iulian RUSNAC (Logistics department manager, Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze SRL) realised a picture of the automotive industry in the Republic of Moldova, Prof. Gicu-Sorin TALIF (TUIASI) presented the hybrid-electric vehicle as the transition stage between thermal propulsion and electric propulsion, and Alexandru LUPEI (SW Verification Group Leader for ADAS, Veoneer Romania SRL) highlighted the skills needed to assume modern Automotive Engineering job roles.
- Invited speakers. A series of beneficiaries and stakeholders of CROSSCOMP project addressed the audience and shared appreciations and expectations with regards to the project. Speakers included Prof. Daniela TĂRNICERIU (Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, TUIASI), Prof. Dumitru CIORBĂ (Dean of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, TUM), Prof. Mihai GADIBADI (Dean of the IATA Faculty, UASM), Prof. Oleg LUPAN (Head of the Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering Department, TUM), Vitalie EȘANU (President of the Association of Electronic Industry Companies of Moldova – ACEM), Roman NICU (Managing Sales Director, AFN Systems SRL), and Ciobanu Igor (Deputy Chief, East -Test Opel, Chișinău).
