“Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) has successfully completed the procurement and delivery of the equipment planned for the modernisation of its Automotive Electronics Laboratory, as part of the CROSSCOMP 2.0 project.
The new equipment represents an important step in upgrading the laboratory’s teaching infrastructure and will provide students with increased opportunities for practical learning in areas related to electromobility, hybrid vehicle technologies and automotive electronic systems.
The latest equipment delivered to TUIASI includes:
- Workstation Vehicle Hybrid Drive – a training workstation that enables students to study the essential components and operating principles of a hybrid vehicle drive on a smaller scale. The system provides a practical environment for understanding hybrid propulsion technologies and their integration into modern vehicles
- .

- High Voltage Battery Technology Training System for Electromobility – a specialised training system designed to support practical learning about high-voltage battery technologies used in electric and hybrid vehicles. It will allow students to explore key aspects of battery systems and their role in modern electromobility.

- Networking Automotive Systems CAN Databus Lighting Educational Panel – an educational panel focused on communication and networking within automotive electronic systems, with particular emphasis on CAN bus technology and automotive lighting systems. The equipment will support hands-on learning about the communication between electronic components and systems inside modern vehicles.

Together with the equipment previously acquired within the project, these systems contribute to the transformation of the Automotive Electronics Laboratory into a modern practical learning environment, supporting the development of technical skills relevant to the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
The investment is part of Activity 1.7 – Academic Infrastructure Upgrade of CROSSCOMP 2.0, which aims to modernise the educational infrastructure of the partner universities and provide students with access to up-to-date didactic equipment. The project’s infrastructure component is designed to strengthen practical education and support the integration of emerging green and digital automotive technologies into higher education.
As the lead partner of CROSSCOMP 2.0, TUIASI is directly involved in the development of the upgraded Automotive Electronics Laboratory, which supports the project’s broader objective of aligning engineering education with the green and digital transformation of the automotive sector.
With the procurement process now completed, the newly equipped laboratory will provide students with additional opportunities to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications and to familiarise themselves with technologies increasingly used in the automotive industry.
The modernisation of the Automotive Electronics Laboratory is one of the tangible results of the collaboration between TUIASI and the Technical University of Moldova within CROSSCOMP 2.0, contributing to the development of a stronger cross-border educational environment for future automotive engineers.
