The “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) has completed the reception of a new batch of equipment acquired for the modernization of the Automotive Electronics Laboratory within the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology. This delivery represents an important step forward in the implementation of Activity 1.7 – Academic Infrastructure Upgrade under the CROSSCOMP 2.0 project.

The newly received didactic equipment contributes significantly to enhancing TUIASI’s academic infrastructure and aligning it with the evolving requirements of the automotive industry, particularly in the areas of electrification, sustainable mobility, and advanced vehicle electronics.

Enhancing Practical Learning and Skills Development

The upgraded laboratory will play a crucial role in strengthening TUIASI’s capacity to provide hands-on, practice-oriented education. Students will have access to advanced tools enabling them to explore key topics such as:

  • Electric vehicle (EV) architecture and design
  • Battery technology and energy management systems
  • Charging infrastructure and electromobility solutions
  • Power electronics in automotive applications
  • Communication systems in modern vehicles

By integrating these elements into the curriculum, TUIASI reinforces its commitment to preparing highly skilled graduates capable of responding to the rapid transformations in the automotive and mobility sectors.

Compliance with European Standards and Procedures

The procurement and reception of the equipment were carried out in full compliance with applicable national and European regulations. The process followed the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2021/1059 and the Financial Regulation guidelines, as well as the specific public procurement requirements outlined in the Financing Agreement of the CROSSCOMP 2.0 project.

Contribution to CROSSCOMP 2.0 Objectives

This achievement directly contributes to the main objective of CROSSCOMP 2.0 – strengthening cross-border cooperation in education and research between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. By upgrading its academic infrastructure, TUIASI enhances its role as a key partner in delivering high-quality, future-oriented training in the automotive domain.

Through this investment, TUIASI not only improves its educational capabilities but also supports the broader transition toward sustainable, intelligent, and connected mobility solutions in the region.
