On 12–13 January 2026, a two‑day working meeting was held in Iași within the project CROSSCOMP 2.0 – Upgrade of the Cross-Border Regional Hub of Competences for the Automotive Industry for Green and Digital Emerging Trends. The event marked an important milestone in Implementation Period 2, bringing together the project teams of the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” of Iași (TUIASI) and the Technical University of Moldova (UTM).

A delegation of three representatives from UTM travelled to Iași for two intensive days of discussions, coordination, and strategic planning.

The working sessions focused on:

A key moment of the meeting was the official signing of the partnership agreement between TUIASI and UTM, formalising the joint commitment to establish and deliver the new double‑degree master’s programme. This agreement strengthens long‑term academic cooperation and supports the creation of a modern, cross‑border educational offer aligned with the needs of the automotive industry.

The two‑day meeting reinforced the shared vision of building a dynamic and innovative academic ecosystem in the Romania–Republic of Moldova cross‑border region, capable of preparing future engineers for the challenges of green and digital mobility.
